We believe in continual learning. Our profession is based on scientific knowledge, which is constantly changing. Our profession’s success depends on creative problem-solving, up-to-date training, and the finest skills.
At SAGE, we are dedicated to helping advance veterinary medicine and improving pet care by sharing what we know. SAGE is committed to providing continuing education opportunities not only for our own staff but also for the veterinarian community within the San Francisco Bay Area. This includes:
The Annual SAGE Small Animal Veterinary Symposium
Since 2000, veterinarians, technicians, and practice managers from throughout the Bay Area have attended our annual full-day SAGE Small Animal Veterinary Symposium. This all-day symposium offers 7 hours of continuing education credits with varied workshops and learning options:
3. Clinical Tracks
2. Nursing Tracks
1. Management/Client Care Track
Registration is now open (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sage-centers-small-animal-symposium-2017-registration-30225221451) for SAGE’s 18th annual small animal symposium, taking place on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott.
Small Group “Diagnosis” Dinners
All four of our SAGE Centers host periodic “diagnosis” dinners. These are small group, informal gatherings that typically consist of short topic presentations with a discussion session to follow. These dinnertime events provide an excellent opportunity for interfacing with regional colleagues. If you’re a San Francisco Bay Area primary veterinarian and would like to be invited to a future event, please add your name to our email list by entering your email address at the bottom of the page and clicking the Sign Up Now button.
Workshops, Local Presentations and Keynote Speaking Engagements
SAGE doctors are encouraged to speak at community events throughout the year, educating both the public, community service personnel, and other veterinary professionals. Past speaking engagements include county veterinary medical associations, “Wilderness First Aid for your Dog” lectures at REI, and Emergency care lectures to law enforcement with Cover Your K9, to name a few.
